This afternoon Paul and the dude went out for a bike ride – instigated by the dude putting on his hoodie and announcing ‘bike ride’ several times. As Daniel is a bit too small to fit in a seat on the back of my bike we went for a walk.
It was a lovely day, not too cold at all, and the walk down to return a basket which had been delivered filled with scones gave me a chance to enjoy the silence and peace of my own thoughts. Having said that, I didn’t actually think about much, but I do enjoy just walking along lost in my own random world.
I also enjoyed the exercise – walking is just about the only form of exercise I am coordinated enough to do, and I feel like I’ve been pretty lazy for the past 6 months or so. I am now full of good intentions to lose lots of weight by walking every day – come back soon espero, I miss walking ’round the block’ with you.
Finally, I enjoyed waving to several people I know as they drove or walked past, it reminds me this really is home now.
As you are country folk, do you not wave at anyone you pass anyway as a matter of course?

Actually…we don’t wave to everyone in the car, but do say hello to everyone when walking. Simple pleasures up here in the ‘country’ – I know you’re jealous.

Me too, smoothstones. We’ll see if we can find a footpath wide enough for 2 double buggies…
